About Anglian Timber Limited

Anglian Timber was founded in 1981 trading as a traditional timber merchant from Birch, near Colchester. After three years the company purchased a sawmill site at Wix, near Harwich, owned by George Paskell & Son. The old hardwood mill and ancient storage buildings have been replaced with modern manufacturing facilities.

On the Wix site the company has a softwood merchanting business specialising in fencing products and a trussed rafter manufacturing plant. Timber, trusses and panels are delivered within a radius of one hundred miles.

In order to ensure supplies of fencing timbers, the company purchased a sawmill operating in the Scottish Borders in 2001. This mill supplies Anglian Timber and it's associated businesses with a full range of posts, rails, F/E boards, palisades and sleepers on an ongoing basis. In times of shortage, this in-house facility has proven to be invaluable.

The company adds value to its products through preservation, planing, pointing, weathering, edging and mortising.

Anglian Timber remains a private company owned by the Milner-Moore family.
